La Hija Cóndor

Jun 1, 2026

In a Quechua community in the Bolivian highlands, the young Clara learns from the elderly Ana, her adoptive mother, to care for the women during the birth and to help deliver the babies. Murmuring ritual songs and repeating healing gestures, they perpetuate the tradition of the Andean midwives, but their practice is put to a severe test by the call of modernity. Through their story, interpreted by actresses who are captivating and accompanied by landscapes that are spectacular, the Bolivian director Alvaro Olmos Torrico celebrates the courage to listen to one’s own voice and to choose one’s own path.
